(The partizanska spomenka 1941 was awarded only to partisans who fought with Tito since the beginning of the war - 1941. The Type II is well known. It is a large silver and gold star with a partisan holding a banner and was made by Inkom of Zagreb beginning in the 1950s. However, the Type II badge was made to replace the Type I which was made in the 1940s by the Leningrad Mint. It is a stamped bronze and enamel red star with a partisan and banner (very different design from the Type II) in the middle. It has 1941 stamped on it. It is extremely rare because all partisans, and even their widows, were ordered to turn them in during the early 1950s and were re-issued Type IIs. Hardly any Type Is survived this “purge”.)
